Job Summary:  

 As a Registered Clinical Dietitian, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing comprehensive nutrition assessments and provides medical nutrition therapy and education to both inpatients and outpatients. This role includes collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, coordinating patient care, and ensuring adherence to nutritional care plans.

  • Conducts nutrition assessments and reassessments for risk level I, II, and III patients.
  • Provides medical nutrition therapy for patients.
  • Offers nutrition education to both inpatients and outpatients.

Experience:

    • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and diet therapy.

Skills:

    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with ancillary team members.
    • Proficient in communicating with patients of all ages and their families.
    • Competence in using various computer software programs.

Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition/Dietetics required.
    • ADA-approved internship required; Master’s Degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible for registration.
    • Must obtain LA City Fire Card certification within 30 days of employment.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Conduct nutrition assessments and reassessments for patients at risk levels I, II, and III.
    • Develop and implement nutrition care plans based on clinical judgment and current research.
    • Coordinate patient care through interdisciplinary care plans and attendance at patient care conferences.
    • Collaborate with external agencies, hospitals, caregivers, and ancillary staff for discharge planning related to nutrition care.
    • Provide nutrition education to outpatients and conduct in-service training for colleagues and ancillary staff.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Supervise dietitian assistants and foodservice staff as needed.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using hospital computer systems.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining department policies and procedures.
    • Engage in departmental performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Professional Development and Quality Improvement:
    • Participate in continuous education to stay updated on recent research and literature.

  • Compliance: Participate in department-specific training, infection control measures, and safety practices.
  • Efficiency: Streamline payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

 

Salary Range: $35.27 - $44.48 per hour
