JOB SUMMARY:
As a Registered Nurse/Clinical Educator, Operating Room, you'll play a vital role in assessing and improving staff competencies, providing professional guidance, designing education programs, serving as a clinical expert, and contributing to research and quality improvement efforts. Your responsibilities include:
- Competency Assessment and Management:
- You're responsible for assessing and managing the competencies of nursing and support staff, ensuring they meet the standards required for optimal patient care.

Experience: 3 years in specialty area of practice, in acute care setting.
Education: BSN required in Nursing Education or related field. Masters in Nursing, Education preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current California RN license
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification
- LA City Fire Card certification within 30 days of hire
- ANCC certification in specialty area preferred

Patient Care:

- Assisting in patient education and ensuring staff adhere to professional and clinical standards.
- Serving as a resource in utilizing hospital-wide documentation tools and technology.
- Advocating for patients and facilitating educational needs and care conferences for complex cases.
Education:
- Identifying learning needs through assessments and designing educational activities/programs based on adult education principles.
- Implementing and evaluating educational activities/programs relevant to participant needs and organizational goals.
- Collaborating with nurse leaders in evaluating Nurse Residents and orientees.
- Contributing to policy development and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilizing quality improvement data in developing educational activities and demonstrating independent judgment in program coordination.
Operations:
- Demonstrating awareness of legal issues in professional and patient care.
- Directing and implementing appropriate responses to emergency situations.
- Enforcing policies and standards through disciplinary action and participating in the performance appraisal process.

Salary Range: $57.24 to $75.01 per hour
